I know a disabled young man( who has no use of his legs) begging on the streets( In India) and I wish to do something for him, perhaps teach him a craft or set up something for him so that he doesnt have to beg! Could sum1 come up with an idea?

I would definately reccomend teaching a craft to him. I have worked with the disabled for 9 years. Many of the people I have worked with sewed, loomed, and did cross stich. They also used the computer effectively, he could do a job inputing informatin into the computer, take dictation etc. Intead of looking at what he cant do because of his legs, look at what he can do with his hands. Dont limit him with what you see. Find out what he can do and run with it!

P.S. Kudos to you for wanting to help him!
Help me please!

I don't know if companies in India hire people with disabilities but, if the only disability he has is not being able to use his legs, try to help him get a job with a company that takes phone calls and gives out information. You might want to consider getting your co-workers and friends to help to pay for him to be trained for some type of work that would give him skills so he could be independent.

sure! thank you for your intention. I think you can help him through various ways. you can personally excercise his matter enquiring his need and ability and then you can help him accordingly. But you should keep it mind that your motto should be turning his hand from baggery to working hand though he is a disabled man. there are many ngos working for them. you may attached his matter with any ngo. In bangladesh there is scope of government job for disabled even in the Superior Services. I do not know wheather is there any such scope in india or not. if yes he may be absorbed in any government or non government institution. If that very man is not educated he should be first thought and should be able to do some work like receptionist, telephone operating, etc. Even if he possess strong attitude to work he may be employed in a match factory or he may be deployed to spin jute bags, making envolope, or he may draw embroidered quilt which are very valuable. First of all you should take care his health and also try to repair his disability by todays modern surgical treatment. thank you

i agree about the call center jobs - i just heard of an american company (sorry, can't remember which) that is opening a big one there. or, what about some type of craft? sewing or some other thing to do that would only require handiwork. there are many things if you open your mind & pray! -
