Any suggestions on how to raise pledges?

Hey there. I'm helping a friend out with her non-profit to help women in the Congo. We are planning a run-a-thon and the runners will collect pledges.

Any creative ideas for how to get pledges from folks? We'd like to give people great ideas to generate involvement- one idea we had was to use the "houseparty" theme.....I'd love any feedback.

Target business for sponsorship.

There are a lot of businesses that will help host events for you - I know Max and Ermas restaurant will help host a fundraiser by giving a certain percentage of the earnings from a given night to a cause. Check into that with popular local businesses.

Post up flyers near high schools or colleges depending on the age you want them to be (don't put up flyers near colleges AND high schools, 14 year olds should not mix with 20 year olds).
