Report it to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) mark the e-mail as spam, and do not reply unless:

1. You bought a lottery ticket

2. Someone else bought you a lottery ticket

3. You wish to be the next victim of identity theft.

They will try to get you to send personal information such as a social security number, a bank account number to post the money to, or they will ask you to open an account. They will probably send you a check and ask you to return some of the money. The check will bounce, and your credit history will be ruined for years. In the meantime, they will use the information they got from you to get credit cards, open up other accounts, and further damage your financial history. This will be done overseas where the U.S. has little or no jurisdiction, and since you did not open the account, you will have little or no recourse. Hope this helps.

This is an obvious attempt to aquire your personal information. The government calls it 'Phishing' and thousands of people fall prey to scams like these. If you were to proceed and try to follow up on this lottery scam, id bet that with in six months or so, if you ran your credit profile, you would find that some activity has been recorded that you yourself did not cause. Examples would be - applications for loans or credit cards.

yeah, it's a scam.

we have a similar m.o. here using text in cellphones.

when you contact them they will instruct you to open an account and prepare some requirements without asking for anything at first, to get you to trust them.

then when they are supposed to transfer the whole amount you won, they will ask you to transfer a few thousand to a fictitious account as processing fee.

Since, you've been into such trouble preparing all those requirements, sometimes you will gamble and send them the money.

I too have received such e-mail. Stay away. If you have not bought a ticket for the lottery legally, then how could you have won anything. Hope this answers your questions and keeps you safe.

Guess what... that is a scam... It was even featured in the news before. They will ask you to contact them & then they will get informations from you... before you know it you are being asked for some money of some identifications... one day you will wake up, you were duped, they had your vital informations & even your financial-social informations.

DON'T BE FOOLED.

I tried it once. it was a scam. i have like 5 of those e-mails in my inbox now. Don't trust foreign lotteries. if you loose you money it is hard for the US government to prosecute and that's why they send them. Its fake, point blank.

don't be too gullible. if you did not buy, how can you win or why do they want to presen a ticket now? should u respond , they may ask you tou pay a fee. if u have some money that u can do without then u can indulge in this facade.
